It looks like my witty blog titles will be back in full force this semester. I missed them a lot.
Anyway, hello everybody, I am Shaleen Hengen, and if you’re reading this then you’re going to learn a little bit about me today! I am currently a second-year secondary education student. If you remember me from my EDTC 300 blog posts, then you know I am a math major, and I am no longer a chemistry minor (I still don’t know why I even attempted chemistry) because I switched to social studies. I grew up in a small town about two hours south of Regina called Arcola. If you would like to see Arcola (and just know that there’s really not much to see), then take the Arcola Avenue exit and head east. You’ll get there eventually. My town has a pre-kindergarten to grade twelve school, and I went to school there until I graduated and went to university.
I don’t have any actual pictures of Arcola, so please enjoy a photo of my graduating class and a sunset from Arcola.
I felt I have changed quite in the past year and a half. My comfort with technology has definitely grown, and I’m excited to see how much more it will grow during my time in EDTC 400. I have three main goals for this class:
- I would like to learn ways I can successfully incorporate technology into the classroom so that it is beneficial for me as an educator and for my students.
- I would like to learn other forms of technology and expand on the technology I learned in EDTC 300.
- I would like to be more involved online, specifically interacting with other students on WordPress and Twitter (insert shameless link here).
I’m excited to once again share my experiences through my blog. That’s all folks!
